Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka’s giant cross changes the Enugu skyline at his Ministry in Enugu City. Fr. Mbaka is the chaplain and founder of popular Adoration Ministries, Enugu Nigeria (AMEN).
Passersby gasped at the sight of the raised Adoration Cross, which stands 45 feet tall, last weekend Saturday, 31 January 2026.
The majestic monument is located at the Iji Nike roundabout in Enugu, very near to the Adoration Ground.
Last Sunday, while preaching the homily at an adoration mass, the cleric described the monument as something he had dreamed about and desired for a long time.
“We prayed and blessed the cross before it was raised,” he told an excited crowd of worshippers at the end of the mass.
“This is not an ordinary cross,” he went on, and advised the worshippers to make the sign of the cross each time they passed by it.
“I expect that it will become a sort of pilgrimage centre before long,” he said.
The cleric used the opportunity to praise and bless the sponsor of the project, a retired Navy Commander, and all those who worked to construct and mount it at the location.
The cross will complement the planned Cross of Hope which Gov Peter Mbah announced would be mounted at Aboh, Udi LGA..
